A look back at Sainte-Barbe at UniLaSalle
On the weekend of November 30, the tradition of Sainte-Barbe once again brought together alumni, students, teachers and families at UniLaSalle Beauvais. While the festive spirit was on display on Friday, November 29, with the parade of geology students and their creative floats on the theme of "musical styles", the event was also marked by valuable time for exchanges with the school's alumni.
No fewer than 43 alumni gathered for this special day, 21 of whom were present (and 3 others connected from the USA, Namibia and Germany!) to share their experience and advice with the 200 students in the Geosciences department. Round tables, discussions and offers of internships or jobs: everything was in place to guide and motivate students in their career paths. Topics covered included geotechnical planning, environmental hydrogeology and depollution, with notable contributions from alumni such as Alexandre VALENZIANO (Geology, 2013, Beauvais) and Agathe ROCAFULL BARRACO (Geology, 2023, Beauvais).
One of the highlights of the event was the sponsorship of the 086-030-031 graduating classes. Lucien CORBINEAU (Geology, 2007, Beauvais), Swan DJEBBARI RIBOT (Geology, 2020, Beauvais) and Patrice DESOURTHEAU took their role as mentors to heart, reinforcing the spirit of intergenerational camaraderie.
Parents, students and alumni enjoyed dinner and a convivial evening to round off this memorable event. The Sainte-Barbe is much more than a party, it's a symbol of the mutual support and passion shared by the entire geology community.
Many thanks to the alumni for their availability and enthusiasm, and to the organizers and Collège Geos for their commitment!
