On Saturday September 21, 2024, Sophie PRIMAS (Agriculture, 1986, Beauvais), was appointed Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade and French Nationals Abroad.
After studying engineering at UniLaSalle, Sophie began her career in retail before joining Kantar, a world leader in data research and consulting.
In the early 2000s, she entered politics in the Yvelines region, becoming mayor of Aubergenville (78) in 2014. At the same time, she joined the French Senate in 2011, where she specialized in consumer affairs and agriculture.
Chairwoman of the Economic Affairs Committee for six years. A fervent defender of rural agriculture, she has also taken a strong stance against certain international agreements, such as those with Mercosur and CETA, which she deems unfavorable to French agriculture. During this mandate, she led numerous joint commissions on major laws such as Elan (housing) and Égalim (agriculture). In the face of international crises, she mobilized todefend the competitiveness of French companies, particularly on world markets.
After the 2023 senatorial renewal , she becomes vice-president of the Senate.
