Saint Barbara 2023!
The first weekend in December is a time for UniLaSalle geologists to get together.
This year, many of them returned to the UniLaSalle Beauvais campus to celebrate Saint Barbara's Day.
Round-table discussions on Saturday afternoon brought together 23 alumni, teachers, engineering and bachelor students.
It's an eagerly-awaited opportunity to share experiences and exchange ideas. This year, they gathered around round tables to discuss : Development and geotechnics & the environment, hydrogeology and pollution control
- Geo-energy and storage - Marine geosciences & sustainable mineral resources
With digital technology and research included in each round table.
Benoit PROUDHON (Geology, 1997, Beauvais) presented "the school of life" in all its forms: from practical work on the Beauvais campus, through fieldwork in the Alps, the Moroccan desert or on a ship in the Mediterranean, to major construction sites.
Last but not least, Alexandre GASCHEN (Geology & Environment, 2013, Beauvais) and Pierre LAVINA (volcanologist and long-time lecturer), were crowned "Patrons" of the classes 085 and 029, to watch over the long careers of the future engineers and bachelors.
To round off the event, a cocktail party attended by over 60 alumni went on into the night.
