An Alumni in the heart of the Aisne vineyards!
Apolline DE WILDE (Alimentation & Santé, 2020, Beauvais), an Alumni to watch! Recently featured on M6's Le 1245, Apolline celebrated her first grape harvest on the family farm in the Aisne region, alongside her brother. Her vines, planted three years ago, are the result of her idea to diversify the farm on a plot of land where, until now, nothing had taken root.
Arnaud has specialized in agriculture, while Apolline has turned to Food & Health to make the most of the farm's processed products. This complementarity between brother and sister is a major asset for the project.
From time to time, the Alumni receives help from a few classmates for special occasions, such as planting, pruning or harvesting.
Apolline is also a member of the "Les 130" collective, which brings together 130 winegrowers from the Hauts-de-France region to produce a 100% local chardonnay. In addition to managing 200 hectares of vines between Saint-Omer and Laon, "Les 130" is committed to training and supporting the region's winegrowers, in support of quality viticulture.
His 19:30 speech can be found here.
Note that UniLaSalle is also proposing a vine adoption project on the Camus de Beauvais vineyard: anyone can adopt a vine identified by name, geolocated, and receive an adoption certificate as well as a bottle of the first vintage in five years' time.
