Alumni days: Emmie Marie ROSALES (Agriculture, 2020, Beauvais)
- Why did you choose to study in France?
When I was 17, I met someone who was studying at UniLaSalle Rouen, and it's been a dream of mine to study in France ever since. In 2017 I applied for an exchange and in 2018 the president of La Salle Araneta accepted my application. So my dream became my reality between 2018 and 2020.
What's more, I knew that French agriculture was one of the leaders in the world and to be able to study at UniLaSalle with the teachers and students was an enriching experience. It gave me new knowledge, particularly about farm management, the measures needed for technical and economic analyses, and methods for communicating the results of experiments to breeders and other players in the sector.
- When you finished your studies, did you stay in France ?
After my studies, I returned to the Philippines. I do two different jobs:
- Teacher/research assistant at De La Salle Araneta University - service contract between 2020 and 2026;
-Technical and commercial support at Novogen from 2022 to the present.
- How do you see your future?
In 10 years, I imagine I'll still be working for Novogen as a technical and sales support in the Philippines and other Asian countries. I'm going to become an expert in the field of laying hens. After my studies in France, I thought long and hard about my dream country. The answer was clear: the Philippines, where I can dive and surf as much as I like while pursuing my profession.
