Clara's job interview!

What does it mean to be a Polluted Sites and Soils (PS&S) consultant ? Clara BEAULIEU (Environment, 2019, Rennes), who has held this position for five years at ERM France, shares a description of her working week and discusses the skills needed to succeed in this role within a consulting firm.

In this interview, the Alumni explains that the job of SSP consultant requires a regular presence in the field, with 60 to 80% of time spent on customer sites. She points out that for young consultants, this immersion in the field enables them to get to grips with the job and understand the various challenges facing SSPs, thus providing useful field experience for moving on to roles such as project manager.

Clara insists that these skills are acquired with experience, and although the profession is open to recent graduates, a first experience, in the form of an internship or work-study in the field, is appreciated.
