Claire HOFSTOETTER (Environment, 2016, Rennes), is project manager at La recyclerie ferroviaire de Beaune, an SNCF Réseau site. Her objective? Reduce rail waste by collecting, sorting and reconditioning parts from construction sites or stored for years.

Recovered materials are either reintegrated into the national inventory if they are new, or reused on other sites if they are second-hand. This process reduces waste production by a factor of 9, and gives a second life to equipment that is often unused.

By 2030, SNCF Réseau aims to capture and recycle 100% of all waste products. To achieve this, Claire works with the technical teams to ensure that all parts made available comply with current standards.

Proud and fulfilled in her role, she encourages other women to join SNCF Réseau.

With La Recyclerie ferroviaire de Beaune, she is contributing to a concrete project that looks to the future and the environment.

Watch her lively speech in the video presenting the Recyclerie.
