From Chicago to UniLaSalle: Léo, a journey that motivates tomorrow's engineers!
Léo TAYOT (Energy Engineering & Digital Systems, 2022, Amiens), is currently on a VIE assignment in Chicago with a French company. He recently spoke in English to 4th year FISE students, as part of their individual project entitled "Reflections and Aspirations". This project, carried out during the first semester, encourages students to reflect on their personal and professional ambitions, while perfecting their command of English.
During this videoconference exchange on Teams, Léo shared his career path. After a work-study period at Denaroo in the RIOC option, he co-founded CODALEM with Maxim AUDREN and Eddie VALLIER (Energy Engineering & Digital Systems, 2022, Amiens). He thus ended his studies with solid professional experience. After a year of juggling between Denaroo, CODALEM and vacancies at UniLaSalle, Léo chose to broaden his horizons with a VIE (Volontariat international entreprise) assignment, a real professional springboard. Léo explained the advantages of this type of contract to the students.
Thanks to this program, he joined Forsk, a French company specializing in network planning software (ATOLL and NAOS), with training in Toulouse prior to his departure for Chicago.
A dynamic exchange with the students Léo also answered the students' many questions about life in Chicago and his career path. He highlighted the "soft skills" that entrepreneurship has given him: time management and self-confidence, reinforced by the CODALEM presentations.
His advice to students: go for more interviews to improve your skills, don't be afraid of rejection, and know how to say no if an opportunity doesn't match your aspirations.
Léo's speech captivated the students, encouraging them to pursue their projects with ambition and seize international opportunities!
