Bruno COLIN (Agriculture, 1983, Rouen) develops his company thanks to a government stimulus package

Bruno COLIN (Agriculture, 1983, Rouen) is the director of the company Végafruits, a fruit cooperative based in Saint-Nicolas-de-Port in Meurthe-et-Moselle (54).

Végafruits specialises in the marketing and processing of fruit, in particular the mirabelle plum from Lorraine.

Thanks to a government stimulus package, Vegafruits will receive two million euros in aid to speed up its investment project: developing the processing of new fruits.

To do this, "we need new machines" explains Bruno. "There are products that are specialities of our region that we have lost a little, such as rosehips, black cherries and Morello cherries. In the world, the United States produces the most Morello cherries, as does Turkey. We're going to try to reproduce these fruits," he explains.

Bruno plans to plant an additional 100 hectares of orchards. This means an increase of 20% in the planting area.

This investment project, worth ten million euros, will not only enable the processing of these fruits, but will also make the installations less energy consuming.
